Product and Project Manager

About the role

The Product and Project Manager reports to the CEO, works closely with the CTO and the Chief Commercial Officer and is the client's point of contact during delivery. The role makes sure every project is planned, tracked and delivered with discipline, and leads discovery and validation for our own products. Velship works AI-first: everyone uses AI every day to work faster and better, and people stay responsible for the result.

What you will do

• Plan projects: scope, schedule, milestones, owners and risks
• Run project kick-offs and follow-up meetings with clients
• Manage scope changes: record them and get approval before doing the work
• Track hours, costs and margin for each project and flag deviations
• Use AI for meeting notes, status reports, documentation and planning, with human review
• Coordinate the handover of contracts from the Chief Commercial Officer to the delivery team and help follow up on collections
• Lead product discovery: interviews, problem validation, prioritisation and pilots
• Prepare monthly project and portfolio reports for the CEO

What we look for

• At least 4 years of professional experience in managing digital or software projects or products
• Working knowledge of Scrum and Kanban (backlog, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) and of managing scope, schedule and risk
• The ability to communicate with business clients and manage expectations clearly
• The ability to speak the language of technical teams and translate business needs
• Organisation, rigour and decision-making under pressure
• A degree in Management, Engineering, IT or a related field
• Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria, prioritising a backlog and estimating work with the team
• Experience controlling project budgets, hours and margin
• Experience running workshops and discovery sessions with clients
• Command of task-management tools (such as Jira, Asana, ClickUp or Trello), documentation and spreadsheets
• Daily, proven use of AI in planning, documentation, minutes, reports and analysis, with concrete workflows you can demonstrate
• Fluent Portuguese and professional English

Nice to have

• Experience dealing with B2B clients
• A certification such as PSM, PSPO, CSM or PMP
• Experience at a software house or digital agency
