About the name
Velship is a coined name: vel evokes speed, ship evokes delivery and craft. Together they describe forward momentum, and ideas that leave the studio and become real.
Logos
The logo is a mark of three fitted pieces around a stepped channel. The square in the upper right is always Velship Lime. Choose the version that fits the background: black on light, white on dark.
These versions carry the English tagline. Choose the language of your audience; the Portuguese page has the Portuguese versions. Do not combine both taglines in one logo.
Main logo
The full signature with the tagline, for covers and formal introductions.
Stacked logo
Centred, with the tagline, for compact panels and editorial layouts.
Horizontal logo
No tagline, shared across languages. For headers and places with little height.
Icon
The mark on its own, for small spaces such as avatars and app icons.
Colours
A quiet base and one distinct signal. Let black and white carry the layout, and use lime for one meaningful action or moment.

Using the logo
A few rules keep the mark recognisable.
Please
- Leave clear space of at least half the height of the mark on every side.
- Keep the logo at least 280 px (50 mm) wide for the full signature, 160 px (30 mm) for the horizontal logo and 32 px (6 mm) for the icon.
- Use black pieces on light backgrounds and white pieces on dark ones, with the square in Velship Lime.
- On a lime background, use the supplied accent tile instead of the logo.
- Use the logo file for the language of your audience.
Please don't
- Stretch, rotate or tilt the logo.
- Retype the name or swap its lettering.
- Recolour the square, or place the lime square directly on lime.
- Split the three pieces or close the stepped channel.
- Add shadows, glows or gradients.
- Combine the English and Portuguese taglines in one logo.
