Chief Commercial Officer

About the role

The Chief Commercial Officer grows Velship Labs' portfolio of business clients. The role owns prospecting, creating opportunities, managing the pipeline, negotiating and winning profitable contracts, with attention to client quality, project margin and long-term potential.

What you will do

• Develop the commercial plan for the Angolan market
• Identify target companies, priority sectors and business decision-makers
• Prospect actively, set up meetings and run needs diagnostics
• Build and keep an up-to-date sales pipeline in a CRM
• Prepare proposals, negotiate prices and terms and take opportunities through to signature
• Work with the CEO and the technical team on feasibility, scope and project margin
• Develop partnerships and long-term business relationships
• Hand contracts over to the delivery team and help follow up on collections
• Report weekly on activity and monthly on results

What we look for

• Proven experience in B2B sales, business development or commercial management
• Solid knowledge of the Angolan business market and of how companies make decisions
• A demonstrated ability to reach business decision-makers through legitimate professional channels
• A verifiable track record of prospecting, negotiating and closing contracts
• The ability to sell value and business return, not only price
• Skill with CRM, pipeline management, sales forecasting and writing proposals
• Knowledge of IT and of the Angolan IT market, since you will talk to clients directly
• Fluent Portuguese and professional English

Nice to have

• Experience in software, technology services, consulting, telecoms or complex business services
