What we design for in Angola
Draft wording: for the team to review.
One clear job
Small, focused apps are easier to use, easier to install and easier to maintain.
Your platforms
Platform and release scope are agreed according to the problem: iOS, Android or both, and whether store submission is part of the engagement.
Weak connections
Apps that stay useful on slow or unreliable connections, and that do not ask for more data than they need.
Real phones
Testing on real phones, including older and lower-cost models that many people actually use.
Field teams
Internal apps for field teams, inspections and approvals, where staff need a task on their phone more than a website.
Messages
Notifications and confirmations by message where that suits your users better than an app alert.
Payments and sign-in
Payments and sign-in options that fit how your users already pay, where an integration is available.
Questions about this service
Do I need an app, or is a website enough?
If customers only need to find you and contact you, a website is usually enough. An app makes sense when people use it often, or when it needs the phone's features such as the camera, location or notifications.
Do you build for both iPhone and Android?
It depends on the problem. We agree which platforms to support, and whether to build for both at once, as part of the scope. Where both are in scope, we test on real devices before submission.
What happens after the app is live?
Updates, fixes and improvements are handled through Care, an agreed support arrangement. What is handed over at the end of the project, such as source code, documentation and store accounts, is agreed in writing for each engagement.
